Poets and Writers

William (Bill) Doreski, Professor of English, Keene State College (New Hampshire) teaches creative writing, literary theory, and modern poetry. His poetry collections include: Suburban Light (1999) and Another Ice Age (2007).

"I am originally from Detroit, now a bankrupt city, a forest of boarded-up skyscrapers. At Wayne County Community College I began my teaching career as an adjunct. I've also worked as a secretary, bartender, and cocktail waitress."

Poet Elizabeth Fodaski was born and raised in New York City, where she still lives. In the 90's, she curated the Segue Foundation's reading series and published the poetry magazine Torque.

Anna Frajlich left Poland after 1968 and found her own poetic haven in New York, but still returns to the places from her past. Her poetry collections include Between Dawn and the Wind (2006) and bilingual Indian Summer, Ktory las (2018).

Poet, teacher, publisher, essayist, translator and editor Louis Dudek was born in Montreal, Quebec in 1918. He taught at McGill University from 1951 to 1984.

He is internationally recognized for his excellence as a poet, speaker, editor, and teacher and is currently seeking a new position as director of a distinguished speakers program, visiting professor of poetry.

Ms. Fondakowski received a degree in Psychiatry and Religion from Union Theological Seminary in the City of New York in 2013, and an MFA from Mills College in 1997.

Gary Gildner is a nationally recognized poet and writer, whose books include Somewhere Geese Are Flying, Blue Like the Heavens, The Second Bridge, and The Warsaw Sparks.

Stuart Dybek has been a professor of English at Western Michigan University and a member of the faculty at the Prague Summer Program.

Piotr Florczyk is a poet, essayist, and translator. He was born and raised in Krakow, Poland, and moved to the United States at the age of sixteen.

Poet and writer Linda Nemec Foster is the author of seven poetry collections. Her recent book is The Lake Michigan Mermaid (2018), with A.M. Oomen. She currently lives in Michingan.

Gogol graduated from the University of Washington in 1965, receiving an MA in German. He was then awarded a Fulbright and a Carnegie travel grant to the Soviet Union. A life-shaping experience.
