Mark Pawlak is the author of nine poetry collections and the editor of six anthologies. His latest book is Reconnaissance: New and Selected Poems and Poetic Journals 2016). Pawlaks poems have appeared in The Best American Poetry, New American Writing, BLOOD TO REMEMBER: American Poets on the Holocaust, and BEYOND LAMENT: Poets of the World Bearing Witness to the Holocaust, among other anthologies and journals.

His work has been translated into German, Japanese, Spanish, and Polish, and has been performed at Teatre Polski in Warsaw. His essays and memoirs have appeared in Jacket 2, Cobalt, Hanging Loose, The Istanbul Literary Review, The Woven Tale and in two anthologies, Writers and Their Notebooks and Denise Levertov in Company, both from South Carolina University Press. For the past forty years, Pawlak has been a co-editor of the Brooklyn, New York-based poetry journal and literary press Hanging Loose. He teaches mathematics at the University of Massachusetts Boston to support his writing habit. He lives in Cambridge
